Loved & Made Worthy

Are you seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus? Are you a high achieving perfectionist holding yourself to an impossible standard? Are you ready to ditch the anxiety that comes with people-pleasing and overachieving? If so, you’re in the right place! It’s time to break the cycle of negative thoughts and let go of the labels that God never gave you. It’s time to embrace your God-given purpose and experience true and lasting peace. This is Loved & Made Worthy, the podcast for Christian women who want to know Jesus on a deeper level and let go of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and overachieving. When you visit here, you’ll find guidance for Spirit-led bible study, words of encouragement for Kingdom living, and a thorough look at who God is and what that means for our identity. I’m Erica, your host and fellow child of God, and let me tell you … I’ve been there. I’ve believed all of the things about myself that never came from God … I’ve worn labels like perfectionist and people-pleaser and anxious and obsessive-compulsive and SO MANY others I never should have worn and it was totally and completely exhausting. And after a lifetime of believing and embracing those lies, one day I was just done. God took me on a journey to discover a deeper relationship with him than I could have ever imagined and offered a new perspective on the truth of who I was. I discovered that only one label–one truth–mattered … Child of God. That single identifier allowed me to break free from all the others and begin working through my need to please others and do things perfectly. And I’m here to tell you that you can do the same. You can be done with the labels and trying to measure up to impossible standards. You can cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus. You can experience the peace that only comes with the knowledge of being a Child of God. During each episode of this podcast, we’ll dig into scripture to uncover the characteristics of God which will guide us in every area of our life. This will make us better equipped to deal with life, rebuke the enemy’s lies about who we are, and walk more steadily in faith. If you’re ready to embrace your God-given purpose & ditch perfectionism, people-pleasing, and overachieving for good … listen in. This is especially for you. God is good.

This goodness is inherent. It is integral to His nature and character, and it’s something that is consistently described and affirmed throughout scripture. In this episode, we look at some of the passages in the Bible that describe God's goodness, and discuss how we can come to know and trust in God's goodness for ourselves.

We talk about the role that faith plays in trusting in God's goodness, and explore some practical ways that we can cultivate trust in God's goodness and love, even when we are facing difficult circumstances or just having an easier time believing satan’s lies than the truth about who God is.

Gen 2:2 ESV - And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

Isa 40:28 ESV - Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

Exo 20:8-11 ESV - "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Mat 12:3-8 ESV - He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God and ate the bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful for him to eat nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless? I tell you, something greater than the temple is here. And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."

Mar 2:27-28 ESV - And he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath."

Mat 11:28-29 ESV - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Biblical Leprosy: Shedding Light on the Disease that Shuns by Dr. Alan L. Gillen https://answersingenesis.org/biology/disease/biblical-leprosy-shedding-light-on-the-disease-that-shuns/

Luk 17:11-19 ESV - On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."

Psa 100:4-5 ESV - Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

2Co 4:15-16 ESV - For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

Phl 4:6-7 ESV - do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1Th 5:16-18 ESV - Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
